Don’t get me wrong–I love clean air, water, and diapers.  But I grow weary of much of the “green” crowd who preach legislation and taxation but practice gluttony.  I’m not naming names–you know who you are.

ChicoBag markets “environmentally friendly” grocery bags.  It made allegedly false statements about the  negative environmental impact of traditional plastic bags.  Now, the plastic bag manufacturers have their polymers in a wad and are suing for lost sales.  Here’s the complaint:  Hilex.

Billy Ray Cyrus is sued for age discrimination—allegedly called a 61-year-old farm employee an “old fart” and then fired him. Awful, just awful. Name callin’ has no place in country music and Nashville’s image (built by icons such as George Jones and Johnny Paycheck) is forever tarnished.

Here’s a copy of the complaint: Sue Billy Ray

Too early to tell, but my gut tells me Mr. Abraham has a long row to hoe.

When I was growing up, it was pretty easy to distinguish mechanical reproductions from public performances. I usually just asked Alexander Graham Bell.

However, one’s and zero’s changed everything. ASCAP called Yahoo and RealNetworks wankers for not licensing digital downloads and went all argy-bargy in District Court. The Judge said ASCAP’s argument was balls-up and ASCAP appealed.

The 2nd Circuit was not gobsmacked by ASCAP and agreed that a digital download (as opposed to streaming) is a mechanical reproduction. No PRO license needed! Wanna read more?

Katy Perry may not be enough to save debt-soaked EMI…especially after a jury held that Citi won’t have to foot the bill.

Lane Kiffin is unpopular, well, pretty much everywhere.  Something about being an arrogant jerk seems to rub people the wrong way–especially in Rocky Top.

After burning the Tennessee Vols,  Kiffin struck again and hired Kennedy Pola away from the Tennessee Titans.  The thing is–Kiffin cannot encourage someone to breach their existing contract.  Unlawful and slippery.

Read the complaint here.   Any thoughts as to why the Titans didn’t also sue Pola for breach?
